Job Summary

The Senior Accountant at Woman’s Plaza will be responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role involves managing day-to-day accounting activities, supervising junior accounts staff, preparing financial statements, monitoring budgets, and supporting management in strategic decision-making. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple financial tasks in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other applicable regulations.
• Handle payroll processing, employee reimbursements, and statutory contributions (PF, ESIC, etc.).
• Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial forecasts for smooth business operations.
• Conduct internal audits and ensure proper controls are in place to safeguard company assets.
• Review and approve journal entries, expense reports, and vendor payments.
• Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and banks for financial and compliance-related matters.
• Supervise and mentor junior accountants/accounts executives, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in work.
• Support management with financial analysis, cost control, and decision-making insights.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CA/CA Inter/ICWA/MBA (Finance) qualification preferred.
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in accounting, preferably in retail, fashion, or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and statutory compliance.
• Proficiency in Tally ERP/QuickBooks/other accounting software and MS Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with integrity.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
