Job Description

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage the financial operations of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fund planning, accounting, taxation, statutory compliance, and financial reporting while ensuring smooth coordination with management, vendors, and auditors. Key Responsibilities: Financial Planning & Fund Management: Plan and manage funds as per business requirements. Provide regular updates to management about the availability and requirement of funds. Prepare fund utilization statements and assist the CA in accounting and taxation processes. Maintain cash flow & fund flow records for efficient financial management. Accounting & Reconciliation: Do bank reconciliations periodically and maintain accurate records. Ensure Tally data reconciliation with party-wise bills and ledgers. Maintain and issue petty cash for office and site expenses while keeping proper records. handle loan statements & CC account statements (monthly/quarterly reconciliation). Perform monthly reconciliation of all bank statements and ensure timely submission of bank compliance reports (by the 10th of each month). Clear suspense accounts monthly and maintain accurate accounting records. Vendor & Contractor Payments: Receive bills from contractors/suppliers, verify them, and process payments after management approval. Update site-wise sales bills in Excel & manual records (notebooks). Manage site-wise retention money follow-ups & payment letters. Follow up on pending payments weekly and ensure timely vendor registration & purchase order entry in Tally. Taxation & Compliance: Ensure statutory compliance & timely payment of taxes (TDS, GST, etc.). Maintain records to avoid penalties & fines due to non-compliance. Provide data and support to the CA for tax filings and audits. Conduct monthly TDS working & GST reconciliation to ensure accuracy. Ensure all statutory audits are conducted on time and compliance is prioritized. Payroll & Expense Management: Verify and process staff salary payments as per schedule. Prepare an advance salary sheet before the 5th of every month. Maintain office expenses & site petty cash records, ensuring weekly updates via SMS. Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and maintain income & expenditure statements as per management requirements. Keep track of creditors & debtors, ensuring monthly hard copy confirmations. Confirm received payment details within 24 hours and maintain accurate records. Maintain EMD entries in Tally & Excel and ensure timely reconciliation. Conduct weekly office account audits with proper documentation and notations. Qualifications & Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3.5 + years of experience in construction accounting. Strong knowledge of construction cost accounting, taxation, and compliance. Proficiency in Tally, Excel, and other accounting software. Experience with bank guarantees, statutory audits, and vendor payments. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Benefits: Competitive salary based on experience.
