Job Title: Senior Accountant Manager – Retail Sector

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant Manager will be responsible for managing accounting operations for a retail entity, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, inventory accounting, and compliance. The role requires expertise in finance systems with emphasis on Genesys applications that support retail sales, revenue management, and customer transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee month-end close, general ledger activities, and financial reconciliations specific to retail operations including inventory, sales, and receivables.
• Manage retail revenue recognition and commission accounting processes utilizing Genesys systems to align transactional data with financial reporting.
• Ensure appropriate accounting treatment of retail contracts, discounts, returns, and promotions within finance systems.
• Coordinate with store operations and supply chain teams to reconcile inventory accounting and manage stock variances.
• Prepare accurate financial statements, sales analytics, and audit documentation for retail operations.
• Ensure compliance with retail-specific accounting policies, including tax implications and statutory requirements.
• Mentor a team of accountants focused on retail transactions and system processes.
• Liaise with cross-functional teams including merchandising, sales, and customer service to resolve financial discrepancies.
• Implement process automation and system enhancements leveraging Genesys features to improve retail finance workflows.
• Stay updated on retail accounting standards, industry regulations, and accounting software developments.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or retail finance certification preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience in the retail industry or retail financial services.
• Experience with Genesys systems or similar ERP software used in retail accounting and sales management.
• Understanding of retail supply chain, inventory management, and sales cycle accounting.
