Role Overview

We are seeking a reliable Local SEO professional with strong WordPress experience and excellent written UK English to support our clients’ local search performance. The role involves ongoing technical audits, optimisation of location landing pages, and the creation of well-written, locally relevant blog content each month.

This position suits someone who is hands-on with WordPress, understands Local SEO ranking factors, and can ensure websites remain optimised, error-free, and locally relevant.

Key Responsibilities

Monthly Technical SEO Audits

• Run full technical audits (using tools provided).
• Identify and fix errors, broken links, crawl issues, and speed/performance issues.
• Ensure websites are properly indexed and error-free.
• WordPress Site Optimisation
• Update and optimise location-based landing pages (content, meta tags, headers, internal links, schema, etc.).
• Maintain mobile-friendliness, site speed, and structured data.
• Implement technical fixes directly in WordPress (themes, plugins, settings).

Content & Blog Management

• Research and write 1–2 supportive blog posts per month per client (local topics, FAQs, services).
• Optimise content for relevant local keywords.
• Upload and format content in WordPress with images, headings, and meta descriptions.

Local SEO Optimisation

• Ensure location pages are fully optimised with correct NAP details.
• Implement on-page strategies to support Google Business Profile visibility.
• Use schema markup where applicable.

Reporting & Documentation

• Provide a short monthly report of tasks completed and improvements made.
• Keep a log of any errors found and fixed.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in Local SEO.
• Strong knowledge of WordPress (themes, plugins, on-page optimisation).
• Ability to run and interpret technical SEO audits (Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush, or similar).
• Competent blog/content writing with SEO optimisation.
• Excellent grammar (UK English)
• Knowledge of structured data/schema for local businesses.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Tools You’ll Use

• WordPress (core CMS, plugins, theme editing).
• SEO audit tools (SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, etc. – provided).
• Google Search Console & Google Analytics.
• Google Docs/Sheets for reporting.

Performance Expectations

• Conduct and resolve technical SEO issues monthly.
• Deliver 1–2 optimised relevant blog posts per client per month.
• Keep all location landing pages updated and optimised.
• Maintain consistency, accuracy, and measurable improvements in local rankings.
