The Role
The Scrum Master
plays a meaningful role in delivering high-quality modern software as part of a cross-functional Agile Scrum Team. This role will be accountable for acting as a servant leader to the Scrum Team, acting to surface and resolve team-level sprint risks and roadblocks while facilitating Scrum ceremonies. This role will also act as a change agent, evangelizing the tents of Agile and Scrum across Global Functions Technology.
Responsibilities
- Act as a Change Agent with a passion for supporting teams to transform their behaviors toward an agile environment
- Facilitate Scrum processes and events enabling team maturity
- Leverage performance data to drive outcomes and continuous improvement
- Create an agile mindset with focus on agile value and principles leading with transparency, inspection, and adaptation resulting in delivery of high value increments which meet the Definition of Done
- Enable teams through servant leadership skills to develop sprint goals, robust product backlogs, acceptance criteria, definitions of done / ready
- Facilitate program level agile ceremonies to include dependency mapping, release planning and scope alignment across Product teams
- Enable the removal of impediments to the Scrum Team’s progress
- Facilitate communication and partnership inside and outside the team to include stakeholder engagement
- Enables empirical product planning for a complex environment
- Protect the team from distractions allowing for focus to meet sprint and program commitments
- Promote self-organization and cross-functionality of the team coaching each role to enable high performance of the team
- Leads, trains, and coaches the organization in its agile adoption
Qualifications
- Mindset consistent with Scrum core values: openness, courage, respect, focus and commitment
- Demonstrated understanding of lean agile values and principles including the 3-5-3 structure of scrum
- 8-12 years working in an agile environment as a development team member, Scrum Master or Product Owner
- 3+ years' experience in managing agile & lean values and standards.
- 3+ years' experience in the Scrum Master or Agile Coach role of distributed Agile team, tech domain preferred
- Expert in facilitation, problem solving and influencing outcomes
- Strong knowledge of best practices in value driven development (requirements management, prototyping, hypothesis driven development, usability testing).
- Expert knowledge of agile tool suites including Atlassian, Agility Health Radar, MS Teams or similar agile management tooling
- Scrum Master and Agile Certifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale enterprise agile transformation with knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or other scaling frameworks
- Strong knowledge of technical engineering best practices including test driven development, continuous integration, DevOps.
