Scrum Master

Job Description

Role Description: We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to facilitate Agile delivery of IT projects. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban), strong facilitation skills, and the ability to foster high-performing teams. You'll work closely with product owners, developers, QA, and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of technology solutions aligned with business objectives. Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities: Guide and coach the team in Agile/Scrum practices, ensuring adherence to Scrum principles. Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives. Remove impediments and foster an environment of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement. Shield the team from external interruptions and distractions. Work with Product Owners to refine and manage the product backlog. Track and report on key Agile metrics (velocity, burn-down/up charts, etc.). Coordinate across teams for dependencies in a scaled Agile environment (SAFe, Nexus, or LeSS knowledge is a plus). Drive team accountability and ensure delivery against project timelines and scope. Support adoption and continuous evolution of Agile practices across the organization. Key Competencies & Skills required Technical Skills: 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in IT or software development environments. Strong understanding of Agile principles and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban). Experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, etc. Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills. Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities. Ability to manage multiple teams or projects in parallel, if needed. Nice to have: Experience in DevOps, CI/CD, or cloud-based project environments. Familiarity with scaled Agile frameworks such as SAFe, LeSS, or Disciplined Agile. Behavioral Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working in a global environment Willingness to learn and quickly adapt to changing requirements Proactive approach to identifying issues and presenting solutions and options Previous Experience & Qualifications Minimum Educational Qualification: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science /Engineering/Information Technology Candidate with non-computer science degree must have minimum 1 year of relevant experience Certification if any: Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) Scrum Alliance Professional Scrum Master (PSM I or II) Scrum.org Years Experience & Knowledge: Minimum 35 years of experience working as a Scrum Master or in a similar Agile delivery role. Proven track record of leading Agile teams in IT project environments (software development, system integration, infrastructure, etc.). Experience working in a multi-team or scaled Agile setup is a strong advantage. Background in software development, QA, business analysis, or project management is a plus. Financial Services background appreciated COBIT / ITIL experience appreciated Experience of working within multi-location teams
