SAP HEAD
Position Title: Head of SAP Department
Reporting To: CITO
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on leader to head SAP Department. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise from similar roles in end-user organizations, with demonstrated experience in managing SAP production support, leading global implementations, overseeing complex integrations, and driving innovation in enterprise application landscapes.
This role demands a strategic thinker with strong operational leadership and a customer-service mindset, capable of delivering support and enhancements within stringent SLAs, while also steering future SAP rollouts and application integrations aligned to business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategic Management
- Leading the SAP Department, aligned with the company’s strategic goals.
- Define and execute SAP roadmap including system upgrades, new implementations, and rollouts across multiple countries and business units.
- Collaborate with senior business leadership to translate business requirements into scalable, reliable SAP solutions.
Production Support & Service Delivery
- Lead and manage end-to-end SAP production support ensuring high availability, system performance, and adherence to SLAs.
- Ensure business users receive high-quality support across all SAP modules and integrated applications.
- Establish governance frameworks for change management, incident management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Integration & Project Delivery
- Drive integration of SAP with other enterprise applications such as Ariba, Salesforce, HR Systems, and Non-SAP platforms.
- Oversee the execution and delivery of large-scale integration projects ensuring seamless data flow and business process alignment.
- Manage complex cross-functional projects, ensuring on-time, within-budget delivery while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
Team Management
- Build, lead, and mentor a large team of SAP and Non-SAP application experts, functional consultants, and technical support staff.
- Foster a high-performance culture with focus on collaboration, continuous learning, and professional growth.
- Oversee vendor relationships and manage external consulting partners effectively.
Functional & Technical Expertise
- Provide expert-level oversight across key SAP modules:
- Financials (FI/CO)
- Supply Chain Management (MM, SD, WM)
- Project Systems
- HR/Payroll
- Ensure system alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with audit and compliance teams to ensure SAP system controls are robust and effective.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education:
- Preferred: CA/CWA or equivalent financial qualification. or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in SAP leadership roles.
- At least 5 years of experience heading SAP operations in an end-user organization, preferably in Real Estate, Construction, Infrastructure, or similarly large, diversified industries.
- Prior consulting experience with global multinationals (Big 4, Tier-1 firms) is highly valued but must be complemented with direct, hands-on experience leading SAP support for large enterprises.
- Proven track record of delivering SAP production support, system enhancements, and global rollouts.
- Demonstrated expertise in leading complex integrations with platforms such as Ariba, Salesforce, HRMS, and other SAP/Non-SAP systems.
- Strong functional knowledge across financial management, supply chain (procurement, sales, inventory, warehouse management), and HR processes.
- Experience managing large, multi-disciplinary teams across geographies.

- Deep understanding of SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA landscapes.
- Strong knowledge of SAP integration tools, middleware, and APIs.

- Financial and commercial acumen, especially relevant for Real Estate & Construction operations.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies.
- Hands-on, proactive approach with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams and external vendors.
Preferred Certifications
- SAP Certifications in relevant modules or technologies.
- Project Management Certifications (PMP, PRINCE2) are an advantage.
- ITIL Certification for Service Management (preferred).
