Job Summary

The Sales Trainer is responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously improving training programs for the sales and counselling teams. The role ensures that all team members have the knowledge, skills, and tools to effectively promote the academy’s offerings, achieve sales targets, and deliver exceptional service to students and parents.

Key Responsibilities1. Training Design and Development

  • Develop comprehensive training modules covering product knowledge, sales techniques, objection handling, customer service, CRM usage, and communication skills.
  • Tailor content to suit different experience levels (new joiners, experienced counsellors, team leads).
  • Update training materials regularly to reflect changes in programs, pricing, or market dynamics.

2. Training Delivery

  • Conduct engaging, interactive classroom and on-the-job training sessions.
  • Organise regular refresher training and skill-building workshops.
  • Coach team members individually to address specific skill gaps.
  • Provide role-playing, simulations, and real-life case study exercises to improve practical sales capabilities.

3. Performance Monitoring and Assessment

  • Evaluate trainee performance through tests, role-plays, sales simulations, and practical assessments.
  • Provide structured feedback and improvement plans to underperforming team members.
  • Track training effectiveness using KPIs (conversion rates, enquiry-to-admission ratio, average ticket size, etc.).
  • Recommend remedial actions or additional coaching for consistently low performers.

4. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with Sales Heads, Centre Managers, and HR to identify training needs.
  • Align training objectives with business goals and sales targets.
  • Support recruitment by participating in interviews and evaluating sales skills of candidates if required.

5. Continuous Improvement

  • Analyse sales data to identify trends and challenges impacting performance.
  • Gather feedback from trainees and managers to refine training programs.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, competitor offerings, and evolving customer expectations.
  • Recommend new training strategies, tools, or technologies to improve effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred fields: Business, Management, Education, Psychology).
  • 3–5 years of experience in sales training, sales management, or counselling in education, training, or related sectors.
  • Proven track record of high-performing sales experience.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire diverse teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Familiarity with CRMs or education management systems is a plus.
