Job Description

We are hiring an experienced Life Insurance Sales professional to drive business from an existing customer base of a reputed financial services organization. The role focuses on life insurance sales, cross-selling, renewals, and portfolio management while working closely with internal sales and advisory teams.

This is an individual contributor role requiring strong sales ownership, relationship management skills, and deep product understanding.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Drive Life Insurance sales from existing customers through effective cross-sell and upsell strategies
  • Execute sales plans aligned with business targets and revenue goals
  • Build a consistent pipeline to ensure regular conversions

Customer Portfolio Management

  • Engage with existing clients to identify insurance gaps and recommend suitable solutions
  • Strengthen long-term customer relationships to improve retention and repeat business

Renewal & Retention Management

  • Proactively manage policy renewals and ensure timely closures
  • Share renewal quotations, benefits, and updated product features with customers
  • Reduce policy lapsation and maintain high renewal ratios

Coordination & Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with internal sales, advisory, and distribution teams
  • Support business through referrals, internal leads, and relationship-based selling

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure adherence to IRDAI regulations and internal SOPs
  • Maintain proper documentation including KYC, proposals, and CRM updates
  • Track performance metrics such as revenue, conversion ratio, and productivity

Candidate Profile

Education

  • Graduate in any discipline
  • IRDAI / NISM certification preferred

Experience

  • 5 - 10 years of experience in Life Insurance sales
  • Strong exposure to existing customer portfolio handling
  • Experience in cross-selling, renewals, or banca / broking / wealth-linked insurance sales preferred

Skills Required

  • Strong relationship management and customer engagement skills
  • Proven ability in cross-selling and renewal management
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Analytical mindset with sales performance tracking ability
  • Comfortable working independently as an individual contributor
