POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales Associate is responsible for driving sales of Applied Bioplastics’ polymer solutions, with a

focus on securing offtake agreements and building long-term customer relationships. This role

founders or technical experts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Execution

• Present, promote, and sell Applied Bioplastics’ polymers using research, insight, and

customer-focused solutions.

• Negotiate and close offtake agreements (letters of intent and/or purchase orders).

• Maintain and grow existing customer accounts.

Customer Engagement

• Conduct cost-benefit and needs analyses for potential and current customers.

• Research and qualify leads; engage via cold calling, email, and LinkedIn.

• Resolve customer issues quickly and effectively to maximize satisfaction.

• Build and sustain strong business relationships at all levels.

Reporting & Collaboration

• Achieve agreed-upon sales targets and outcomes within deadlines.

• Coordinate with team members and other departments to support sales efforts.

• Provide management with regular reports on customer needs, problems, interests,

competitor activities, and opportunities for new products.

• Stay current on best practices, industry trends, and the competitive landscape.

• Continuously improve sales skills through feedback and training.

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE

• 1-3 years’ experience in polymer or materials sales, with a proven track record of strong

performance (consistently among the top performers); polyolefin sales experience a plus.

• Demonstrated experience in executive-level sales to large and/or global companies.

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, polymers, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience

(5+ years) also considered.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Strong technical selling skills and executive presence.

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation abilities.

• Proficiency with MS Office and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Monday.com).

• Highly motivated, target-driven, and customer-service oriented.

• Exceptional prioritization, time management, and organizational skills.

• Team player with strong interpersonal skills and openness to feedback.

MOTIVATIONAL/CULTURAL FIT

• Passion for technology and innovation.

• Results-driven mindset with resilience under pressure.

• Commitment to sustainability and making a positive environmental and social impact.
