HSE Safety Supervisor – Role Description

Role Objective:

To ensure the implementation and monitoring of Health, Safety, and Environmental standards across the site/project, promoting a safe working culture and ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Compliance & Regulation:

  • Ensure adherence to all applicable HSE laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Stay updated with changes in safety legislation and standards.
  1. Risk Assessment & Hazard Control:

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and practices; recommend corrective actions.
  1. Training & Awareness:

  • Organize safety induction programs for new workers.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety drills, and awareness sessions.
  1. Incident Management:

  • Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe acts.
  • Prepare incident reports and assist in root cause analysis.
  1. Emergency Preparedness:

  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
  • Coordinate mock drills and ensure readiness of emergency equipment.
  1. Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain safety records, inspection checklists, and audit reports.
  • Submit daily/weekly/monthly safety performance reports to management.
  1. PPE & Safety Equipment:

  • Monitor usage and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Ensure proper maintenance and storage of safety gear.
  1. Coordination & Communication:

  • Liaise with site engineers, contractors, and workers to promote safety culture.
  • Act as a point of contact for all HSE-related matters on site.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diploma/Degree in Engineering or Safety Management.
  • Certification in NEBOSH / IOSH / Industrial Safety (preferred).
  • 1–3 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably in renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong communication and observation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage field-level safety operations.
