Roles & Responsibilities EHS Professional

1. EHS Compliance & Systems Implementation

• Ensure strict compliance with the Factories Act, Factory Rules, and other applicable statutory requirements.
• Implement, maintain, and monitor ISO 14001 (Environmental) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) standards.
• Deploy and manage the Intelex Global EHS System, ensuring timely closure of corrective actions.
• Enforce the Work Permit System for all high-risk and external activities.
  

2. Safety Culture & Training

• Promote the Valmont Health, Safety & Environment Playbook across all plant operations.
• Conduct EHS training, awareness sessions, and competency-building programs for employees and contractors.
• Drive employee engagement in EHS initiatives, including recognition and reward programs.
  

3. Audits, Inspections & Risk Management

• Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
• Lead accident and incident investigations and ensure timely implementation of corrective measures.
• Maintain and update risk assessments, emergency preparedness plans, and safety protocols.
• Conduct mock drills and implement improvements based on observations.
  

4. Regulatory & Statutory Compliance

• Liaise with government authorities (e.g., MPCB/GPCB, Factory Inspector, Fire Department, PESO, MIDC) to ensure compliance.
• Prepare and submit statutory reports and returns on time.
• Manage hazardous waste, maintain required documentation, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Monitor ETP & STP operations to ensure environmental compliance.
  

5. Health Monitoring & Reporting

• Coordinate annual and half-yearly medical examinations and maintain Form-7 records.
• Prepare and submit monthly EHS MIS reports, bulletins, and dashboards.
• Maintain accurate EHS data and documentation in internal systems.
  

6. Committee & Stakeholder Engagement

• Conduct Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings and follow up on action items.
• Collaborate with internal departments on equipment design, fire safety, and process improvements.
• Support national and global EHS recognition programs.
  

7. People Management

• Conduct regular communication meetings with employees and delegate tasks with appropriate authority.
• Conduct fair and effective appraisals using the Performance Management System (PMS).
• Assess, recommend, and lead employee orientation, training, and development programs as per HR policies.
• Ensure conformance with workplace policies, processes, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
