Retail Auditor – FMCG Retail Chain

Role Purpose

To independently audit FMCG retail stores to ensure compliance with SOPs, inventory accuracy, cash controls, statutory norms, and operational discipline, while identifying revenue leakages and process gaps.

Key Responsibilities Operations Audit

• Conduct periodic audits of retail stores covering cash handling, billing accuracy, discounts, and POS compliance
• Verify adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) across stores
• Audit store-level expenses, petty cash, and approvals

Inventory & Shrinkage Control

• Perform physical stock verification and cycle counts
• Identify stock discrepancies, shrinkage, pilferage, and expiry losses
• Validate GRN, stock transfers, returns, and wastage processes

Compliance & Process Review

• Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and internal policies
• Review pricing accuracy, scheme execution, and promotional compliance
• Check vendor invoices, rate contracts, and credit notes

Reporting & Risk Identification

• Prepare audit reports highlighting observations, risks, and actionable recommendations
• Track closure of audit observations and corrective actions
• Escalate critical deviations impacting revenue or compliance

Business Support

• Support management in strengthening internal controls
• Recommend process improvements to reduce losses and improve store efficiency
• Assist during surprise audits and special investigations

• Reduction in inventory variance (%)
• Shrinkage and wastage control
• Audit closure TAT
• SOP compliance score across stores
• Revenue leakage identification value

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce, Finance, or related field
• 3–7 years of retail audit experience (FMCG / supermarket preferred)
• Strong understanding of store operations, POS, and inventory systems
• Excellent analytical, observation, and reporting skills
• Willingness to travel extensively across store locations
• Proficient in MS Excel and reporting tools

Preferred Experience

• FMCG retail chains, supermarkets, QSR, or multi-store formats
• Experience in surprise audits and loss prevention
• Exposure to ERP / POS systems

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
