Job Description

We’re looking for a passionate R&D Scientist/Food Technologist to bring innovative food products to life! If you love experimenting in the kitchen and scaling recipes for mass production, this role is for you.


The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the development of new food products, improving existing ones, and ensuring the successfulscaling up of production processes. The role will require you to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, production, and quality control, to deliver safe, nutritious, and high-quality products to the market.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Development: Lead the development and innovation of new food products from

concept to commercialization, focusing on meeting customer needs and regulatory

requirements.

  • Recipe Formulation: Develop and optimize product formulations and improve existing ones to enhance taste, texture, and nutritional profile.
  • Process Improvement: Design and develop scalable food processing techniques that align with industry standards and improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and product quality.
  • Pilot Testing & Scale-Up: Oversee pilot batches and testing for new formulations, ensuring successful scale-up to full production while maintaining product integrity.
  • Sensory Evaluation: Conduct sensory analysis of products, including taste tests, texture analysis, and visual appeal assessments, ensuring products meet consumer preferences and quality standards.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on local and international food safety regulationsand standards (e.g., FSSAI), ensuring all new products and processes comply with relevant laws and certifications.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze lab and production data, document findings, and prepare detailed reports for management and other stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Production, to ensure alignment of R&D efforts with overall business objectives.
  • Trend Analysis & Innovation: Keep track of the latest food trends, consumer preferences, and emerging technologies to incorporate innovative approaches in product development.
  • Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve technical issues related to product quality, production processes, and packaging, ensuring minimal disruptions in production.
  • Cost Management: Assist in determining cost-effective raw material sourcing and production methods that optimize quality and profitability.


Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of food processing techniques and technologies (e.g.,pasteurization, fermentation, extrusion, etc.).
  • Proficient in lab-scale experimentation, pilot-scale production, and scale-up processes.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, GMP, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ability to perform sensory analysis and product testing.
