Job Description

Role Overview: As a Category Manager at Astral Ltd, your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement a comprehensive category strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives. You will be analyzing market trends, industry developments, and the competitive landscape to identify opportunities for cost savings, innovation, and risk mitigation. Additionally, you will be overseeing the end-to-end procurement process, managing supplier relationships, driving innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring quality and compliance, and implementing cost management strategies. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement a comprehensive category strategy aligned with organizational goals. - Analyze market trends, industry developments, and competitive landscape for cost savings and innovation. - Determine category significance to overall business goals and operational needs. - Define clear category goals, performance metrics, and KPIs. - Segment the category based on subcategories, locations, and other relevant factors. - Oversee the end-to-end procurement process including requisition processing and negotiation of contract terms. - Work with cross-functional teams to align material requirements with project schedules and budgets. - Evaluate supplier proposals, conduct evaluations, and select suitable suppliers based on criteria such as cost and quality. - Manage supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and conduct performance reviews. - Drive innovation by exploring new materials, sustainable practices, and process improvements. - Ensure quality and compliance with industry standards and regulations. - Manage costs by analyzing total cost of ownership, negotiating favorable pricing, and forecasting demand. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. - Proven experience in category management, procurement, and supplier relationship management. - Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. - Knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. - Familiarity with quality standards, compliance requirements, and cost management strategies. - Certification in procurement or supply chain management is a plus.
