Job Description

Job Title: Quality Manager – Food IndustryDepartment: Quality Assurance / Quality ControlReports To: Head – Operations / Plant HeadJob Summary

The Quality Manager will be responsible for ensuring food safety, quality compliance, and regulatory adherence across all manufacturing processes. The role requires a strong Food Technology background, hands-on core food industry experience, in-depth knowledge of FSSAI regulations, internal and external audits, and active collaboration with the R&D team to develop and maintain product standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesQuality & Food Safety

  • Ensure compliance with FSSAI, GMP, GHP, HACCP, ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000 standards
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality systems, SOPs, and food safety protocols
  • Monitor raw materials, in-process checks, and finished goods quality
  • Handle non-conformances, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)

Regulatory & Compliance

  • Ensure all products meet FSSAI licensing, labeling, and regulatory requirements
  • Stay updated with changes in food laws and regulatory guidelines
  • Coordinate with regulatory bodies during inspections and audits

Audits

  • Plan and conduct internal audits and hygiene inspections
  • Lead external audits (FSSAI, customer audits, third-party certifications)
  • Prepare documentation and ensure audit readiness at all times

R&D Support & Standardization

  • Work closely with the R&D team to standardize new product formulations
  • Validate product quality, shelf-life studies, and process parameters
  • Assist in scaling up R&D trials to commercial production
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained during new product development (NPD)

Team & Training

  • Train production and QA teams on food safety, hygiene, and quality standards
  • Promote a strong food safety and quality culture across the organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Food Technology or Food Science (mandatory)
  • Certifications in HACCP, ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000 preferred

Experience

  • 5–10 years of core experience in the food manufacturing industry
  • Strong exposure to FSSAI compliance, audits, and food safety systems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
