Quality Control Engineer

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Engineer with a strong mechanical background to support our quality operations in the manufacturing of metallic and non-metallic expansion joints. The ideal candidate will have hands-on knowledge of welding processes, inspection techniques, and Third-Party Inspection (TPI) coordination. Key Responsibilities Oversee and ensure compliance with quality standards throughout the manufacturing process of expansion joints. Conduct visual inspections, dimensional checks, and quality verification of in-process and finished products. Monitor and review welding processes, WPS/PQR, and welder qualifications. Identify and resolve quality issues, non-conformities, and deviations in coordination with production and engineering teams. Prepare and maintain inspection reports, QC documentation, and traceability records. Coordinate and handle Third-Party Inspectors (TPI), ensuring timely inspections and documentation closure. Implement quality improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA). Ensure adherence to industry standards such as ASME, ASTM, and applicable customer specifications. Support internal and external audits as required. Required Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of welding techniques, weld symbols, and fabrication processes. Good understanding of visual inspection, NDT basics, and mechanical measurements. Experience in TPI handling and dealing with customer quality requirements. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and specifications. Good communication skills and ability to interact with cross-functional teams. Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail. Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems is an advantage. Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory). Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; preference will be given to candidates from expansion joint, pressure vessel, fabrication, or similar industries. Certification in welding inspection (like CSWIP, AWS-CWI) is an added advantage.
