Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Quality Control Chemist at Devarsons Industries Pvt. Ltd., located in Ahmedabad. The Quality Control Chemist will be responsible for conducting routine laboratory tests, analyzing chemical and physical properties of raw materials and finished products, calibrating and operating laboratory equipment, and maintaining records of test results. The role also includes ensuring that quality standards and compliance requirements are consistently met.


Eligibility: Diploma/Graduate/Post graduate in Chemical or Chemistry

Preferable -Diploma in Plastic Engineering


Key responsibilities:


  • Perform routine analytical tests on raw materials, in-process samples and finished dyes using assigned laboratory methods (e.g., titrations, pH, colorimetric/UV‑Vis checks etc).
  • Prepare, label and store samples and reagents following standard operating procedures.
  • Record test data clearly and accurately in lab notebooks and electronic systems; raise nonconformances when results fall outside specifications.
  • Assist in conducting in-process checks on dye baths, intermediates and finished products to verify shade, strength and physical properties.
  • Calibrate, clean and perform basic maintenance on laboratory instruments and equipment; arrange/coordinate preventive maintenance and external calibration as required.
  • Follow and help maintain Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), company SOPs, safety rules and chemical handling procedures.
  • Support senior QC chemists during method validation, stability testing, and root-cause investigations by preparing samples, running tests and compiling data.
  • Participate in batch release activities under supervision, and assist during internal or external quality audits.
  • Help prepare clear, timely QC reports and batch test records for production and QA review.



Desired skills and attributes:


  • Injection moulding: basic understanding of injection unit, mould cooling, ejector issues, gate types, and common defect signatures.
  • Twin‑roll / mill equipment: roll gap setting, calendered sheet/film inspection, sheet take‑off and edge control.
  • Mulle machine: operate/monitor mixing or mulling equipment used for pigment dispersion; recognize mix‑quality indicators and temperature control needs.
  • Lab instruments: handheld spectrophotometer/colourimeter, hardness tester, micrometer/calipers, basic tensile tester, melt flow indexer, pH meter, viscometer (if available).
  • Data systems: basic data entry and trending in spreadsheets or LIMS; maintain calibration and test logs.
  • Effective communication and teamwork; willing to learn and take direction from senior chemists.
