Quality Assurance - Welding

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure system discipline on shop floor: usage of approved welders, WPS compliance, consumable usage as per guidelines, and mock-up approvals.
• RM clearance and compliance to suit welding requirements; QAP adherence.
• Implement and monitor approved welding procedures; develop WPQT and WCS for projects.
• Develop and implement PWHT processes for fabricated structures and raw materials.
• Innovate and improve welding processes; introduce automation solutions for fabrication.
• Calibrate welding machines and maintain welding instruments and gauges.
• Conduct welder qualification programs to achieve First Time Right” weld quality.
• Prepare and update stage and scope sheets; ensure all inspection stages are adhered to.
• Perform rework/rejection analysis and provide feedback to process owners.
• Maintain documentation for compliance and customer approvals.

Qualifications Required:

• Engineer (Mechanical/Metallurgy)

OR

• Diploma (Mechanical/Metallurgy)

Experience:

• 3–6 years

  in Nuclear, Defense, or Pressure Vessel Fabrication Industry

Technical Competencies:

• Knowledge of welding metallurgy and heat treatment processes
• Proficiency in SMAW, GTAW, SAW, FCAW, GMAW
• Familiarity with ASME Sec IX, Sec II-C, AWS standards
• Understanding of mechanical properties (tensile, yield, impact toughness)
• Hands-on welding qualification and drawing reading
• Knowledge of QMS, EMS, OHSAS
• Ability to analyze and resolve welding-related problems
• Exposure to welding automation systems
