Role & responsibilities Qualify new Procedure Qualification Record as per ASME Sec. IX, PD5500, EN 15614-1, IBR standards, Client specification etc. • To prepare WPS, PQR & weld plan as per the job requirement & get the approval of the documents from client / TPI and make available to Manufacturing. • Welder / Welding Operator performance qualification, documentation & certification. • Welder training by providing welding and material technical support and guidance. • Carry out weld defect analysis and prepare CAPA. • Carry out welding consumables estimation as per drawing & specification and raise indent for the same. • Prepare Technical Purchase Specification for all welding consumables. • Carry out incoming inspection of welding consumables as per code & TPS. • Responsible for Intergranular Corrosion Testing, Chemical Analysis, Microstructure examination of welding along with compilation of reports. • Carry out spot check of welding to verify compliance of Welding Procedure Specification. • Calibration of all welding related instruments, which are used in plant. • Have knowledge of ISO 9001, ASME, OHSAS, EHS Preferred candidate profile Qualification : DFT / DME / B.E. Role & responsibilities Review customer specifications and extract customer specific welding requirements Welding consumable estimation. Prepare indent for welding consumable requirements with quality and quantity. Prepare MTS / TDC for welding consumable purchase. Receipt inspection of welding consumables as per approved MTS/TDC. Ensure welding machine calibration and other measuring instruments used in welding. Preparation of WPS/PQR/WPQ as per ASME Sec IX, AWS D1.1. Welder training and control of welders including welder qualifications, welder continuity, maintenance of WPQ certificates as per ASME requirements. Qualification of Welding procedures under TPI witness and record maintenance. Prepare Weld & Test Plan, Weld Map and submit for client approval. Ensure PTC requirements and its Testing. Face ASME Audits for welding. Thorough knowledge of ASME and other international codes / standards like AWS D1.1. Good knowledge of welding processes like SMAW, GTAW, SAW, FCAW, GMAW, etc.. Knowledge of welding automation. Ensure and verification of use of right welding process, welding consumables and welder / welding operators in shop floor. Ensure proper storage and baking of welding consumables. Daily spot checks / monitoring in shop of welding processes for reduction in welding defects. Overall control of welding material, welding machines, electrode baking/ holding ovens and welders. Coordinate with various labs and TPI for WPS/PQR testing. Preparation of Heat Treatment request / PWHT / Stress Relieving Cycle of various jobs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project execution and defect resolution. Maintain accurate records of inspection results, test reports, and certifications. Desired Candidate Profile Minimum 5-10 years of experience in Welding Inspection or related field (QC Engineer/QC Inspector). Diploma/B.Tech/B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution. Proficiency in ASNT Level II techniques (PT, MT, UT, RT), CSWIP 3.1 qualification required.
