Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist

to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in

API testing, manual testing

, and

test management tools like Jira

to ensure the delivery of high-quality products. As part of the QA team, you will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and business analysts to identify, document, and resolve issues across our applications. This role is a great opportunity for professionals with

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Test Planning & Execution:
    • Understand requirements and create detailed, structured, and comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
    • Execute manual test cases to validate new features, enhancements, and bug fixes across different environments.
  • API Testing:
    • Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman, Swagger, or equivalent.
    • Validate request/response structures, error handling, and performance of APIs.
    • Collaborate with developers to ensure APIs meet business and technical requirements.
  • Defect Tracking & Reporting:
    • Use Jira (or similar issue tracking tools) to log, track, and manage defects through the entire lifecycle.
    • Work with stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of issues.
    • Provide clear, concise, and actionable bug reports.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Partner with cross-functional teams including development, product, and business teams to clarify requirements and define acceptance criteria.
    • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
    • Act as a quality advocate within the team, promoting best practices in testing and QA processes.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Contribute ideas to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, new testing techniques, and tools to improve QA processes.
    • Support the team in identifying automation opportunities (basic exposure to automation is a plus but not mandatory).

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 1-4 years of professional experience in Quality Assurance or Software Testing.
  • Proven expertise in manual testing with strong attention to detail.
  • Hands-on experience in API testing using tools like Postman or similar.
  • Proficiency in using Jira or other test/bug management tools.
  • Good understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think from an end-user perspective.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Basic knowledge of automation frameworks or scripting is an advantage.
  • Experience with databases (e.g., SQL) for validating backend data.
  • Familiarity with performance testing concepts.
