QA / QC Manager

Detailed Job Description (JD) Role: Quality Head – High Tensile Fasteners Location: Phase-V (Focal Point), Ludhiana Compensation: Up to ₹45,000 per month (CTC/gross as per policy) Working Days: 6 days | Shift: General (flexible for audits/customer visits) Key Responsibilities QMS Ownership: Maintain & improve IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 compliance, procedures, work instructions, and document control. APQP/PPAP: Lead control plans, FMEA, process flow, PPAP submissions (Level 3), and layout inspection. In-process & Final QC: Set incoming/in-process/final inspection standards; ensure traceability & defect containment. Testing & Metrology: Manage UTM tensile tests, wedge load, hardness (HRC/HV), torque-tension, thread gauging (GO/NO-GO), ring/plug gauges, pitch diameter, surface finish, salt spray (if in-house/with lab). MSA & SPC: Implement GR&R, capability studies (Cp/Cpk), trend charts, and reaction plans. Calibration: Plan & control calibration of gauges/instruments; maintain master lists & certificates. Supplier & Customer Quality: Vendor audits, incoming PPM, SCAR/CAR, and customer complaint handling (8D, root cause, CAPA); face customer/third-party audits. Process Quality: Work with production on heat treatment, forging, threading, plating/phosphating/galvanizing quality parameters & records. Team Leadership: Lead QC inspectors, lab technicians; skill matrix, training, and daily GEMBA/Layered Process Audits. Must-Have 7–10 years in fasteners/auto components/precision machining quality. Hands-on with PPAP/APQP/FMEA/MSA/SPC, 8D/CAPA, and IATF 16949/ISO 9001. Strong knowledge of ISO 898 / IS 1367 tests for bolts, nuts, studs and washers. Practical command of gauging, sampling plans (AQL), calibration, and measurement basics. Proficiency with Excel & basic QC software/reporting. Good-to-Have Exposure to zinc flake, phosphating, hot-dip galvanizing, and heat treatment process controls. Audit experience (internal auditor certificate). Basic metallography/microstructure reading. Education Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical/Production/Metallurgy (or equivalent).
