Purchase Manager – Pharma & Generic Products

Experience Required:

5–8 years in purchasing / procurement in the pharmaceutical sector, preferably with prior experience in leading digital pharmacy or health-tech platforms like SastaSundar, Tata 1MG, Netmeds, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead and manage end-to-end procurement of branded, generic, and OTC pharmaceutical products.

· Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers and vendors to expand product assortment and ensure competitive pricing.

· Conduct vendor negotiations to secure best pricing, payment terms, and supply reliability.

· Collaborate closely with marketing and product teams to support new product launches and seasonal campaigns.

· Monitor purchase budgets, track KPIs, and analyze purchase data to optimize inventory costs and turnover.

· Ensure compliance with regulatory standards related to drug procurement and distribution.

· Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors to ensure timely supply and resolve operational issues.

· Develop demand forecasts based on historical data and market trends in coordination with sales & inventory teams.

· Work with cross-functional teams (warehouse, sales, finance) to streamline purchase processes and reduce operational bottlenecks.

· Continuously explore new product opportunities and evaluate potential for business growth.

Key Skills & Competencies:

· Proven experience in pharmaceutical purchasing / procurement.

· Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen.

· Excellent knowledge of pharma supply chain, generic products, and market dynamics.

· Experience in planning and executing product launches.

· Analytical mindset with proficiency in MS Excel / ERP / procurement tools.

· Good communication and vendor management skills.

· Up-to-date knowledge of regulatory guidelines in pharma procurement.

Education:

· Graduate in Pharmacy / Commerce / Business.

· MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations, or related field preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
