Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking seasoned professional procurement to oversee and optimize our purchasing operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in procurement within the real estate or construction industry, a strong network of suppliers, and a proven track record of cost optimisation and timely procurement of quality materials.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Procurement Planning

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project timelines and budgetary constraints.
  • Forecast procurement needs based on project schedules and market trends.
  • Establish procurement policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance.

2. Vendor Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors to secure advantageous terms.
  • Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.

3. Procurement Operations

  • Oversee the end-of-the-end procurement process, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Coordinate with project managers and site engineers to align procurement with project requirements.
  • Manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, and inventory levels.

4. Cost Control and Budget Management

  • Monitor procurement budgets and implement cost-saving measures without compromising on quality.
  • Analyse market trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, expenditures, and savings achieved.

5. Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Set performance goals, conduct evaluations, and provide training to enhance team capabilities.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration with other departments.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in procurement within the real estate or construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, market rates, and supply chain logistics.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Leadership qualities with experience in managing a team.

  • Adherence to procurement budgets.
  • Timeliness and accuracy of material deliveries.
  • Supplier performance and compliance.
  • Cost savings achieved through strategic sourcing.
