Purchase Head

You have a position open for Purchase Head in Indore location within the SSP, Phosphate, Fertilizer, and Agrochemical industry. As the Purchase Head, you will be a core team member of the Purchase team, responsible for managing the sourcing of Raw Material, Engineering Spares, and packing materials at competitive rates to drive profitability. Your key responsibilities will include developing different sources of Raw Material procurement, identifying manufacturers, developing relationships, and rating suppliers based on various parameters. Additionally, you will be required to track the international market for global supplier information, exchange information globally to determine reliability and pricing, and decide on the procurement volume and schedule based on market trends. Vendor development is crucial, where you will identify potential small vendors nationally and internationally, provide technical know-how, and ensure their reliability as suppliers. Maintaining a network of suppliers for each Raw Material to ensure continuity is also part of your role. Specific responsibilities will involve managing the purchase of MRO category items, tracking purchase and service requisitions, ensuring timely delivery, maintaining lists of ARCs and AMCs, coordinating with the engineering team for quick material arrangements, and generating timely MIS reports related to MRO purchases. You will also work on cost reduction initiatives, supplier selection, and consolidation to optimize sourcing and overall supplier performance. To excel in this role, you should have at least 14+ years of Raw Materials Procurement experience, with a significant portion in chemicals and resin manufacturing companies. Strong leadership skills, knowledge of the supplier base and cost trends, negotiation skills, understanding of commercial and tax implications, and experience working with SAP MM are essential. You must have a proven track record of delivery in challenging business environments and the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders effectively.
