Job Title: Purchase Coordinator / Purchase Engineer for a leading civil construction co at coimbatore Department: Procurement & Purchase Reports To: Managing Director / Design Team Location: Coimbatore, Head Office CTC: Maximum gross up to 50 K PM Job Summary: Responsible for end-to-end project procurement—ensuring timely, cost-effective sourcing of materials, equipment, and services. This role requires strong technical and commercial acumen to manage the entire purchase cycle, coordinate across teams, and maintain vendor relationships in line with project timelines and company standards. Key Responsibilities: Review drawings, specifications, and prepare estimates / BOQs. Process purchase and labour requests, validating technical and commercial details. Source and evaluate vendors; issue and manage RFQs. Prepare quotation comparison sheets and recommend suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery. Generate and issue Purchase Orders (POs) / Work Orders (WOs) after management approval. Track orders, follow up with vendors for timely deliveries, and maintain procurement trackers. Coordinate with site, design, accounts, and management teams for approvals, deliveries, and payments. Maintain documentation (POs, MRNs, invoices) and ensure adherence to procurement policies. Monitor DPRs and labour reports to align procurement with project progress. Key Interactions: Internal: Project, Design, Accounts, and Management Teams External: Vendors and Suppliers Qualifications & Experience: B.E. (Civil) / Graduate in Supply Chain Management. 5–10 years of experience in procurement/purchase, preferably in the construction industry. Proficient in reading drawings, preparing estimates & BOQs. Strong knowledge of MS Office (Excel) and procurement/ERP software. Skills & Competencies: Negotiation and analytical skills Vendor management and coordination Time management and attention to detail Integrity and process discipline Qualifications & Experience • A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or supply chain management. • 5-10 years of experience in a procurement or purchase role, preferably within the construction industry. • Experience with reading construction drawings, specifications, preparing estimates and BOQs • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and experience with procurement or ERP software.
