Purchase Engineer

A Purchase Engineer for an HVAC manufacturing company is primarily responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring HVAC components and materials to support manufacturing and project needs. The role requires working closely with suppliers, project managers, and engineers to ensure the timely availability of high-quality equipment and materials within budget.

Key responsibilities typically include:

• Identifying and evaluating suppliers based on price, quality, reliability, and service.
• Negotiating contracts, pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
• Collaborating with engineering and project teams to understand material requirements.
• Managing purchase orders and monitoring inventory levels to avoid production delays.
• Conducting market research on HVAC technologies and suppliers to find cost efficiencies and improvements.
• Maintaining procurement documentation and supplier performance records.
• Ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Supporting continuous improvement in procurement processes and supplier management.

Required qualifications and skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (procurement, supply chain management is a plus).
• Several years (often 3-5+) of experience in HVAC procurement or related engineering procurement roles.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
• Technical understanding of HVAC equipment and components.
• Proficiency with procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
• Analytical mindset for cost and supply chain optimization.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with project engineers, operations, and finance teams effectively.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹24,000.00 - ₹34,000.00 per month
