Proposal Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Interpreting tender documents and preparation of deviations and clarifications / technical data sheets and drawings
• Preparing technical proposal for customer.
• Responding to tenders, obtaining critical inputs for design & preparation of technical offer, datasheets, clarification & deviations, HMBDs, PFDs, P&IDs, GA & Layout.
• Core knowledge on various types of burners, type of boilers, type of combustors (in case of solid fuel)
• Basic knowledge on WHRB
• Thermal calculations for performance check, finalize basic engineering specs for Oil &gas / Solid fuel fired Boiler, Heater and its auxiliaries.
• Optimum Costing for offered system with backups & comparison with executed orders.
• Design validation based on field data.
• Interaction with customer, consultant, vendor for clarification of technical issues.
• Interfacing with engineering, procurement & execution, quality, logistic team for inputs related to offer.
• Preparation of bill of material.
• Preparation of purchase specifications and datasheet and vendor quote evaluation, floating enquiries to suppliers & validating vendor offers
• Contribute towards automation of calculations, drawings and specification

Critical Competencies for the Job:

Functional:

• Thorough knowledge on thermal engineering, thermodynamics, heat transfer, combustion, fluid mechanics and hydraulics.
• Knowledge of material selection and thickness calculation for different design condition
• Knowledge on codes and standards related to boiler design like IBR, EN, ASME, PTC, BS.
• Knowledge of Fuels and Combustion and Emission control technologies.
• Basic knowledge of rotating equipment’s (pumps, fans, compressors, motors, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of boiler instrumentation (gauges, transmitters, sensors, PLC etc.)
• Basic knowledge of boiler Electricals (motors, MCC, cabling, etc.)
• Ability to work in cross functional teams, intra and inter department.
• Ability to work on new initiatives related organization building
