Project Manager - Hardware & Software Development

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead cross-functional teams in delivering innovative hardware and software products. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex projects that span both hardware and software development lifecycles, with deep expertise in agile methodologies and the ability to adapt frameworks to meet the unique challenges of integrated product development.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead end-to-end project management for hardware and software product development initiatives from concept to market launch
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, software developers, firmware engineers, industrial designers, and quality assurance specialists
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, resources, and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects
  • Facilitate effective communication between hardware and software teams to ensure seamless integration

Agile Implementation & Optimization

  • Implement and optimize agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) adapted for hardware-software integration projects
  • Serve as Scrum Master for development teams, facilitating daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint reviews
  • Coach teams on agile best practices and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Adapt traditional agile practices to accommodate hardware development constraints such as longer lead times, physical prototyping, and manufacturing considerations

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with product management, engineering leadership, and executive stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and success metrics
  • Provide regular project status updates, risk assessments, and milestone reports to senior leadership
  • Manage vendor relationships and external partner coordination for hardware components and software integrations
  • Facilitate decision-making processes and conflict resolution across teams and departments

Process Improvement & Risk Management

  • Identify and mitigate project risks, particularly those related to hardware-software integration challenges
  • Develop and maintain project management standards, templates, and best practices
  • Drive process improvements to increase team velocity and product quality
  • Manage change requests and scope adjustments while maintaining project objectives

Required Qualifications

Experience & Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
  • 3+ years of project management experience in technology companies developing both hardware and software products
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience implementing agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
  • Proven track record managing projects with teams of 10+ members

Agile Expertise

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent agile certification required
  • Deep understanding of agile principles and ability to adapt methodologies for hardware development constraints
  • Experience with agile project management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, Monday.com, or similar)
  • Demonstrated success in scaling agile practices across multiple teams and departments

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of both software development lifecycle (SDLC) and hardware development processes
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, firmware development, and hardware-software integration challenges
  • Experience with product development processes including design validation, testing, and manufacturing
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for hardware products (FCC, CE, FDA, etc.)

Leadership & Communication

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present to executive leadership
  • Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making approach
  • Experience managing geographically distributed teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, or SAFe certification
  • Experience with IoT products, consumer electronics, or medical devices
  • Background in lean manufacturing or design for manufacturing (DFM) principles
  • Experience with regulatory approval processes and compliance management
  • Previous experience in startup or high-growth technology environments

Pay: ₹18,973.62 - ₹84,980.91 per month
