Project Executive

Role Description

The Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing project schedules, preparing BOM/BOQ, and coordinating procurement and execution activities. This role requires close coordination with Design, Production, and Procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials and smooth project flow. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in planning for fabrication and engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and update project timelines, schedules, and milestone tracking sheets.

• Generate Bill of Materials (BOM), Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and Procurement Lists from fabrication drawings. Prepare DXFs & CNC Machine Nesting Programs.

• Coordinate with Design and Production teams to align drawings, material requirements, and production planning.

• Follow up with Procurement team and vendors to ensure timely availability of raw materials and bought-outs.

• Monitor job progress and maintain daily/weekly/monthly execution reports.

• Identify and flag potential delays or conflicts and propose corrective actions.

• Assist in capacity planning, resource allocation, and load balancing.

• Maintain documentation of all planning-related processes and reports.

• Support costing and estimation activities, and participate in planning meetings.

Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

• 2–5 years of experience in project planning within fabrication or heavy engineering setups.

• Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and basic ERP or planning software.

• Strong ability to read fabrication drawings and extract technical data.

• Experience in BOM/BOQ preparation and procurement coordination.

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Effective communication and team collaboration abilities.
