The Opportunity
Hitachi Energy PQS uses a state of art Modelling Tool and other in-house Engineering Tools in PQS Electromechanical design. The PQS Electromechanical Design (EM) Team is responsible for the design of the PQS Plant and the preparation of PQS Installation Drawings & Documents by developing a 3D Model in Revit. A PQS Electromechanical Design Engineer is continuously aquiring multi-skilled knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Domain, required to deliver design with Safety and Quality.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Review of Tender or Bidding Specification. Plant Modelling in 3D Environment with interface with ACC / BIM360.
- Preparation, Review of FACTS Layout (Yard Arrangement, Buildings, Grounding, Lightning Protection).
- Preparation and Review of Civil Input Information (Foundation, Conduit, Trench, and other Civil Requirements).
- Calculations and Layouts for Grounding, Lightning, Busbar system data, Ampacity, cantilever & Magnetic Field Calculations.
- Preparation and Review of Detailed Steel Drawings (For Manufacturing / Procurement & Installation). Purchasing Steel, Al, Connectors, Switchyard Equipment.
- Coordinate Project Engineering on a range of engineering disciplines e.g. electrical, mechanical, civil, structural engineering.
- Project engineering activities such as planning, risk assessments; coordination of resources (personnel and equipment).
- Ensuring adherence to safety standards and mitigation of potential risks.
- Creating work plans and cost estimates; scope, budget and schedule for assignments.
- Interact directly with customers, project management, contractors and supply chain.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical / mechanical / civil engineering knowledge for detail design of electrical substation.
- Have minimum work experience of 5 - 8 years in Substation Primary Design (HV / EHV / UHV)
- Self-starter caliber who could own tasks through to completion. Strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge & Experience REVIT or 3D CAD tool. Project / Tender BOQ Estimation & Costing and Budget Control by Design Optimization.
- Inter-departmental Interface Engineering Co-Ordination and Project Co-Ordination. Project Engineering and Time Schedule & Monitoring.
- Experience in Basic & Detailed Design Engineering with EPC, Consultancy Design Environment.
- Short-term (Deputation) Experience in Erection & Installation of MV, HV & EHV Electrical Installations / Sub-stations (33kV, 66kV, 132kV, 220kV, 400kV).
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
