Program Communication Manager, WRI India

Job Highlight:

As a communications manager, you will play a key role in shaping and executing the communications strategy for an upcoming transport initiative. You will be responsible for developing compelling narratives, driving media engagement, and creating impactful content that highlights the initiative’s objectives and outcomes across multiple platforms.


What you will need:

• Minimum 7 years of full-time experience in communications/print media

  • Proven expertise in media engagement and content creation
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas simply
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with attention to detail
  • Experience in mainstream print media—preferably covering urban mobility or environment—will be an advantage
  • Basic familiarity with design tools like Canva
  • Enthusiasm, flexibility, and a willingness to learn
  • Willingness to travel across cities for events and convenings


What you will do:

Media Management (40%)

  • Track emerging trends and stories in the transport sector to identify engagement opportunities and facilitate interactions for expert opinions and providing research content
  • Nurture the ecosystem to shape holistic narratives for city transport systems

Content Creation (40%)

  • Develop engaging communication materials—such as short videos, graphics, and reels—for channels including the website, WhatsApp, Instagram, and LinkedIn
  • Repurpose research reports and decks to create tailored content with clear messaging
  • Manage a structured blog and social media calendar and identify new storytelling opportunities

Events Support (20%)

  • Support teams in preparing event materials such as concept notes, agendas, event collaterals and brochures
  • Coordinate logistics and provide on-ground support during convenings and workshops
  • Work with vendors to deliver quality material as required

Potential Salary or Benefits:

Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.
