Job Description

We are seeking an innovative and experienced Professor of Entrepreneurship and Startup Incubation to join our School of Business. The successful candidate will lead our entrepreneurship curriculum, mentor student startups, and build strong connections with the startup ecosystem. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the next generation of entrepreneurs while contributing to the university's growing reputation as a hub for innovation and business creation. Key Responsibilities Teaching & Curriculum Development (40%) Design and deliver practice-based courses in entrepreneurship, venture creation, business model innovation, and startup financing Develop experiential learning components that align with our 75% practice-based assessment framework Integrate industry challenges and real-world startup scenarios into classroom activities Create assessment methods that measure entrepreneurial thinking, innovation capability, and business acumen Mentor student entrepreneurship projects and startup teams Research & Thought Leadership (20%) Conduct and publish research in entrepreneurship, innovation management, and startup ecosystems Present at national and international entrepreneurship conferences and forums Develop case studies of successful startups and entrepreneurial ventures Contribute to public discourse on entrepreneurship through articles, blogs, and media appearances Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in the startup ecosystem Incubation & Ecosystem Building (30%) Lead the university's startup incubation program, providing mentorship to student ventures Design and implement startup acceleration programs and pitch competitions Build and maintain relationships with angel investors, venture capitalists, and industry partners Facilitate connections between student entrepreneurs and potential investors/mentors Organize entrepreneurship events, workshops, and speaker series featuring successful founders Administration & Service (10%) Participate in departmental and university committees related to entrepreneurship initiatives Contribute to strategic planning for entrepreneurship programming across the university Represent the university at external entrepreneurship events and forums Support student recruitment efforts by showcasing entrepreneurship opportunities Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to foster an institution-wide entrepreneurial mindset Qualifications Required PhD in Entrepreneurship, Business, Management, or related field from an accredited institution Minimum 5 years of combined experience in: Teaching entrepreneurship at university level Founding or working in startups Mentoring early-stage ventures Proven track record of publishing in the field of entrepreneurship Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver practice-based entrepreneurship education Experience with startup incubation or acceleration programs Strong network within the entrepreneurial ecosystem Excellent communication and presentation skills Show more Show less
