Job Title: Production Manager – Ship Repair Location: Kochi, Kerala Department: Operations / Production Reports To: DGM Operations / Production Job Summary We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Production Manager – Ship Repair to oversee and coordinate all activities related to ship repair and maintenance. The ideal candidate will manage the production team, ensure timely project execution, maintain quality and safety standards, and liaise with clients and internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Plan, schedule, and oversee all ship repair and maintenance operations. Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to ensure timely resource availability. Supervise daily work activities, allocate manpower, and monitor progress. Ensure adherence to repair specifications, safety standards, and classification society requirements. Manage subcontractors and vendors involved in ship repair activities. Maintain accurate production reports, progress updates, and job costing records. Lead toolbox talks and enforce safety practices at all times. Resolve technical issues on-site in coordination with technical teams. Improve operational efficiency through process improvements and workforce training. Ensure quality control and compliance with ISO, class, and customer requirements. Report progress and challenges to senior management regularly. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical/Marine Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 8-10 years of experience in ship repair, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role. Strong knowledge of ship structures, marine systems, and dry dock procedures. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with safety regulations, classification society standards, and quality control processes. Proficient in using MS Office, project management tools, and ERP systems. Preferred Experience in both commercial and defense ship repair projects. Certification in project management or safety (e.g., PMP, NEBOSH) is an advantage. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
