Position Summary:


Production Manager


Roles & Responsibilities:


  1. Production Planning & Scheduling:

    Develop and maintain the production plan based on sales forecasts, ensuring production schedules align with business needs and timelines.
  2. Workflow Coordination:

    Assign tasks to the production team, ensuring they follow established manufacturing sequences and timeframes.
  3. Material Management:

    Estimate material requirements and ensure the correct materials are obtained from the Stores Department and available on the shop floor.
  4. Quality Control:

    Set product quality standards, monitor the quality of output at every stage, and ensure the final product meets specifications through regular testing (hydraulic, pneumatic, etc.).
  5. Process Oversight:

    Ensure all production processes are carried out as per set specifications, including fabrication, welding, fitting, and assembly.
  6. Outsourcing Decisions:

    Collaborate with senior management to assess and implement outsourcing for specific parts of the production process when necessary.
  7. Production Progress Monitoring:

    Track production progress, resolve any delays, and ensure all products are completed within set timelines and quality standards.
  8. Team Management & Recruitment:

    Ensure adequate staffing levels based on the manpower plan, participate in recruitment, and manage team performance and development.
  9. Training & Development:

    Conduct training sessions and mentorship programs to develop employees for higher responsibilities and ensure continuous skill improvement.
  10. Performance Appraisal:

    Perform regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback, and conducting annual and mid-year appraisals.
  11. Waste Reduction:

    Ensure the efficient use of resources and materials to minimize waste while optimizing production costs.
  12. Safety Compliance:

    Enforce workplace safety standards, ensuring that employees follow safety protocols and work in a safe environment.
  13. Collaboration with QA:

    Work closely with the QA department to resolve any deviations in product quality and ensure rectifications are made within stipulated timelines.
  14. Progress Reporting:

    Regularly update management on production progress, any issues encountered, and corrective actions taken.
  15. Product Handover:

    Notify the Stores and Dispatch departments once the product passes Quality Assurance checks and is ready for delivery.
