Production Manager

We are a 45-year-old notebook manufacturing company with three strong brands — Pioneer (premium), Popular (mid-range), and Goodboy (economical). We are among the leading players in West Bengal with a distribution network of 50+ distributors and growing rapidly towards our 2030 growth target.

Role Objective:

To oversee and streamline the entire production process — from raw material input to finished goods — ensuring high quality, timely output, cost efficiency, and minimal wastage across all brands.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Execution

• Plan and schedule daily/weekly production based on orders and dispatch requirements.
• Ensure optimum utilization of machines (cutting, ruling, binding, packing).
• Maintain balance between Pioneer, Popular, and Goodboy production lines according to demand.
• Track and report daily production output, downtime, and rejection.

2. Quality Control & Process Improvement

• Implement quality checks at each stage — ruling, binding, and finishing.
• Identify recurring quality issues (like cover misalignment, paper wastage, or loose binding) and take corrective action.
• Maintain standardization across batches and brands.
• Work closely with supervisors and workers to improve consistency.

3. Manpower & Shift Management

• Supervise production staff, assign work, and monitor shift efficiency.
• Ensure attendance discipline and optimize overtime usage.
• Conduct regular training and skill development sessions for operators and helpers on:
• Machine handling and maintenance basics
• Quality awareness and defect identification
• Safety and housekeeping practices
• Productivity improvement techniques
• Build a motivated, well-trained team aligned with production goals.

4. Material & Inventory Coordination

• Coordinate with the purchase and stores team for timely availability of paper, boards, and raw materials.
• Maintain buffer stock levels to avoid production delays.
• Keep records of material usage, wastage, and yield reports.

5. Maintenance & Equipment Efficiency

• Liaise with the maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Ensure all machines are in good working condition with minimal downtime.

6. Cost & Productivity Control

• Monitor material wastage and suggest process optimizations.
• Identify areas to reduce rework and improve cost efficiency.
• Analyze daily production reports and suggest data-driven improvements.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
