Role Overview

The Production Head will lead the end-to-end design, development, and prototyping activities

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development

• Oversee the translation of CAD/SolidWorks designs into manufacturable prototypes.
• Collaborate with the R&D and project teams to refine designs for performance, ergonomics, and manufacturability.
• Ensure design iterations incorporate feedback from testing and client requirements.

Prototyping & Production Readiness

• Lead prototyping of mechanical, electronic, and software-integrated systems for simulators.
• Validate prototype performance against design and functional specifications.
• Develop SOPs, BOMs, and work instructions for seamless transition from prototype to production.

Team & Resource Management

• Manage a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, and technicians.
• Ensure optimal utilisation of manpower, machinery, and materials.
• Foster collaboration between design, quality, and production teams.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure prototypes meet industry standards, safety regulations, and defence/aerospace compliance requirements.
• Establish QA/QC checks during prototyping and initial production runs.
• Maintain documentation for audits, trials, and client demonstrations.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Introduce best practices in design for manufacturability (DFM) and prototyping efficiency.
• Drive lean manufacturing and cost optimisation initiatives during development.
• Benchmark global trends in simulation hardware and apply learnings.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Work closely with COO, project managers, and client representatives to align prototype development with project milestones.
• Provide regular updates on design progress, challenges, and mitigation measures.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).
• 12–18 years of experience in

  manufacturing operations, prototyping, and new product development

  .
• Strong background in precision engineering, fabrication, assembly, and electronics integration.
• Hands-on expertise in

  CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.)

  .
• Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or advanced prototyping techniques preferred.
