Job Description

Talent Formula (http://www.talentformula.co) is a consulting firm that offers outsourced Financial and accounting Human Resources to Chartered Accounting firms worldwide. We are currently looking for a Product Manager.
The Product manager sits at the intersection of business, user experience and technology and ensures our clients' needs are represented in our technology offering.
Everything we build must have customers' needs at the centre, and the product manager must be the custodian of this commitment to customers.
As the owner of several proprietary products, you will be the subject matter expert on the current and future capabilities. You will work directly with the development teams, setting product priorities and acting as the customer's voice to ensure every release incrementally adds value to the users.

Key responsibilities
  • Defining a vision for our proprietary technology products, considering the business strategy, user experience and technology capabilities and articulating that with product roadmaps.
  • Work directly with customers and internal product stakeholders to ensure you have a comprehensive understanding of their needs, and design features that will give them a competitive advantage.
  • Articulate product requirements with user stories and screen mock-ups to describe the desired product functionality and outcomes from the perspective of users.
  • Be accountable for delivering the product promises on time, on budget and to the expected high standard of quality by approving product releases.
  • Partner with the CTO, software engineers and test engineers in agile sprint activities, helping to set the product priorities and ensuring deliveries align with the agreed product cadence.
  • Collaborate with the Executive team, Technology team, Commercial teams and others to align stakeholders around the vision for the product.
  • Prioritising product features and capabilities against development budgets, commercial gains, and other ROI metrics.
  • Monitoring the market and developing competitive analyses to ensure we remain one step ahead of the competitors.
  • Maintaining accurate product-related assets that satisfy onboarding, training, demonstration, and sales needs.
  • Review customer support requests with Customer Success Managers and determine the priority of items to be addressed by the development team.
Personal attributes
Our values drive our everyday behaviours and guide our decision-making, therefore having alignment with them is critical:
  • Customer obsessed; our customers are the lifeblood of our business, and our contribution to their success should be front of mind in this role. Understanding the industry and the needs and demands of being an operator will drive how this role succeeds by aligning our product features with the needs of our users.
  • Collaborative: this role requires close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. You will seek input and remain open to new ideas to ensure the best outcome can be discovered.
  • Curious; having a natural desire to learn and seek answers will open opportunities and keep your perspective broad, looking for new ways to deliver success.
  • Creative; we have a defined path for many parts of our business. However, we are open to seeking new, innovative, or creative ways to be successful or secure a better outcome.

Skills, knowledge, and experience
  • 5+ years of total experience, with at least 3+ years as a Product Manager in software product management principles, where you have owned the end-to-end product lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated commercial impact and data-driven decision making (e.g. usage growth, revenue %, etc.)
  • Experience in product operations ideally started in a larger tech/product company, with more recent experience in a scale-up or startup in the hospitality industry, financial services or similar is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies and lean product practices
  • Managed multiple products simultaneously or one large, complex product
  • Strong communicators can simplify complex ideas and deliver clear, compelling messages.
  • Good understanding of SaaS, AI, and data analytics
  • Use data to inform decisions and measure product success
  • Have worked with customers, demonstrating products and gathering requirements, ideally through Design Thinking principles
  • Design experience would be seen as highly advantageous.
  • Problem-solving expertise, with an emphasis on active listening and applying considered thought and collaboration through the solution-development process.
