JOB TITLE: Manager - Product Engineering LOCATION: Ranipet, Tamil Nadu EXPERIENCE : 6-8 years Job Summary: The Product Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of Refrigeration products. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, creativity, and practical experience to ensure our products meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and efficiency. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and marketing to bring innovative products to market and support existing product lines. Key Responsibilities: ● Design and Development: β—‹ Able to create designs for new products with innovative performance features. β—‹ Develop detailed designs for new HVAC&R products, including schematics, 3D models, and component specifications. β—‹ Utilize CAD software and other engineering tools to create and refine product designs. β—‹ Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company guidelines. ● Prototyping and Testing: β—‹ Develop prototypes to test new products and ensure they're high quality and viability. β—‹ Create and test prototypes to evaluate design performance and identify areas for improvement. β—‹ Conduct performance testing, reliability testing, and failure analysis. β—‹ Work with the testing team to validate product performance under various operating conditions. ● Product Improvement: β—‹ Analyze feedback from customers, service technicians, and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for product enhancements. β—‹ Implement design modifications and upgrades to improve product performance, efficiency, and durability. β—‹ Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address and resolve product issues. ● Cost Management: . β—‹ Balancing the cost of materials and production to maintain profitability without compromising on quality β—‹ Cost control through waste reduction and process efficiency ● Customer Satisfaction: β—‹ Understanding customer and market requirements and possessing knowledge to gauge the products with growing demand. β—‹ Prepare budget for the customers at the start of new projects. β—‹ Meeting or exceeding customer expectations through reliable and effective product performance. ● Project Management: β—‹ Lead and manage product development projects from concept to production. β—‹ Can understand troubleshooting for complications during the production process. β—‹ Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and track progress against milestones. β—‹ Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure timely delivery of components and products. β—‹ Collaborate with the manufacturing and product development teams to complete projects on time ● Documentation and Compliance: β—‹ Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for all product designs, tests, and modifications. β—‹ Ensure all products meet regulatory and compliance requirements, including energy efficiency standards and environmental regulations. β—‹ Support the preparation of technical manuals, installation guides, and customer documentation. ● Collaboration and Support: β—‹ Work closely with the R&D team to incorporate new technologies and innovations into product designs. β—‹ Provide technical support to the sales and marketing teams for product launches and customer inquiries. β—‹ Assist the manufacturing team in resolving production issues and optimizing manufacturing processes. ● Quality Assurance and Safety: β—‹ Ensure all engineering process to be consider for environmental & safety aspects. β—‹ Implementing rigorous testing and quality control measures to ensure products meet high standards. Qualifications: ● Education: β—‹ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering β—‹ M.Tech in Refrigeration & Air-conditioning or M Tech in Heat & Mass Transfer is a must. ● Technical Skills: β—‹ Mandatory requirement of knowledge of DFMEA. β—‹ Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD). β—‹ Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles. β—‹ Experience with HVAC&R systems, components, and industry standards (e.g., ASHRAE, AHRI, UL).
