Product Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Design & Development

• Design and develop bearings (ball, roller, tapered, cylindrical, thrust, etc.) based on customer and application requirements.
• Create engineering drawings, 3D models, and technical specifications.
• Select appropriate materials, heat-treat processes, lubrication systems, and tolerances.

2. Application Engineering

• Understand customer requirements, load conditions, speed, environment, and duty cycles to recommend suitable bearing solutions.
• Conduct bearing life calculations (L10, L10h) and performance analysis.

3. Testing & Validation

• Plan and execute product testing including endurance testing, noise & vibration analysis, friction/torque testing, and environmental performance.
• Analyze test results and implement design improvements.

4. Process & Manufacturing Support

• Collaborate with manufacturing teams on tooling, machining, grinding, heat treatment, and assembly processes.
• Resolve production issues and ensure manufacturability of new designs.

5. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to ISO, ASTM, and industry-specific bearing standards.
• Conduct root-cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action plans for quality failures.

6. Cost Optimization

• Drive cost reduction through design modifications, material optimization, and process improvements.
• Support value engineering (VE) and value analysis (VA) initiatives.

7. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain detailed engineering documents—BOMs, drawings, failure analysis reports, PPAP documentation, and test reports.
• Provide technical support to sales and customer service teams.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of bearing design principles, tribology, and material science.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, or similar).
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and engineering calculations.
• Familiarity with heat treatment, forging, machining, and grinding processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication skills and ability to interact with clients and cross-functional teams.

Job Type: Contractual / Temporary

Pay: ₹700,000.51 - ₹1,600,000.12 per year
