Product Development Engineer
The Product Development Engineer will be responsible for executing design and development tasks for customer application programs related to automotive roof systems. This includes sunroofs, shading systems, and associated components. The role demands strong technical expertise, customer interaction, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver validated, cost-effective, and innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop sunroof and shading systems for automotive applications
Perform engineering calculations and ensure robust product design
Support manufacturing engineering and quality teams at the Pune plant
Implement product changes and ensure accurate execution
Work in a matrix organization to support local plant operations
Understand customer requirements and prepare design proposals
Manage product validation, fit and function testing, and customer approvals
Represent engineering in customer projects for Indian application programs
Capture and communicate the voice of the customer effectively
Deliver technical presentations to OEMs to enhance technical positioning
Develop customer intimacy and provide competitive technical solutions
Apply bookshelf solutions aligned with global product strategies
Conduct benchmarking of competitor products and report market trends
Coordinate technical content for customer RFQs
Required Skills & Knowledge
Proven knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up
Strong understanding of DFMEA, DVP, VAVE, and MPV
Experience in RFQ analysis and customer specification review
Ability to benchmark and analyze competitor products
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Familiarity with global engineering standards and practices
Additional Information
This role involves direct interaction with leading automotive OEMs
Travel may be required for customer meetings and validation activities
Exposure to electric and autonomous vehicle roof technologies is a plus

Pay: ₹804,094.77 - ₹2,138,071.61 per year
