Procurement Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic procurement plan aligned with business goals.
  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers to ensure a reliable, competitive, and scalable supply chain.
  • Conduct regular market analysis to monitor industry trends, pricing structures, and emerging vendors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent quality and supply.
  • Negotiate contracts and SLAs with favorable commercial terms and delivery timelines.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address non-compliance or quality issues proactively.
  • Analyze supplier cost structures and identify opportunities for savings and efficiency.
  • Lead cost-reduction initiatives while ensuring quality and supply chain resilience.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses and implement initiatives to improve ROI.
  • Streamline procurement processes by adopting best practices and digital tools.
  • Improve internal procurement workflows and interface with ERP/procurement systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement with broader business objectives.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with legal, regulatory, and internal standards.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to suppliers, contracts, and supply chain disruptions.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and adapt procurement strategies accordingly.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and project teams to forecast and fulfill procurement needs.
  • Maintain open communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
  • 10-15 years of proven procurement experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas or heavy industries.
  • Expertise in supplier negotiations, cost control, and strategic sourcing.
  • Proficient in ERP and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.

Skills:

  • Strong command over English
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Ability to analyze technical documents like BOMs and engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and procurement tools.
  • Knowledge of international codes and standards in the oil and gas industry.
  • Mindset: A problem-solver with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering results.

Chennai, India.

Work Timings: Monday - Friday ( 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM )
