PPC (Production Planning & Control)

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized PPC Professional to manage and

control production planning, material scheduling, capacity planning, and daily production

execution at our Periyapalayam manufacturing facility.

The role demands expertise in end-to-end PPC activities for high-volume manufacturing

of Gas Cooktops, Hobs, and Chimney components, ensuring on-time production with

optimal utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Production Planning &Scheduling

 Prepare monthly, weekly, and daily production plans based on customer forecasts

and internal priorities.

 Plan production orders considering line capacity, tooling availability, manpower,

and machine load.

 Monitor actual production vs. plan and update deviations with corrective actions.

B. Material Planning & Coordination

 Ensure material availability for all SKUs through MRP planning, PR generation,

and supplier follow-up.

 Coordinate with Procurement for RM/PM deliveries to avoid line stoppages.

 Maintain optimum inventory levels (Safety Stock, Min-Max Control).

C. Capacity & Resource Planning

 Assess machine, tool, and manpower capacity to meet production targets.

 Conduct capacity utilization studies for press shop, welding, assembly, and testing

lines.

 Plan additional shifts, overtime, or subcontracting when required.

D. Shop Floor Control & Execution

 Release daily production schedules to shop floor supervisors.

 Track real-time progress in pressing, frame forming, casting, welding, assembly,

testing areas.

 Resolve bottlenecks and coordinate with maintenance for machine breakdowns.

E. Data Management & Reporting

 Prepare daily MIS reports:

o Plan vs Actual Production

o Material Shortage Report

o Line Productivity OEE

o WIP &; Inventory Reports

 Maintain production master data, BOM accuracy, routing times, and standard

cycle times.

F. Coordination with Cross-Functional Teams

 Work closely with:

o Production for output and manpower

o Quality for in-process quality issues

o NPD for pilot run planning and new model introductions

o Store for material availability and stock status

o Maintenance for machine health and planning PM schedules

G. Systems, Process & Compliance

 Ensure PPC activities align with internal SOPs and ISO standards.

 Support digitalization of planning activities (ERP / Excel-based tools).

 Ensure adherence to FIFO, lean practices, and 5S in all planning operations.

3. Required Skills & Competencies

 Strong knowledge of PPC processes in a discrete manufacturing environment.

 Experience in capacity planning, shop floor scheduling, and material planning.

 Good understanding of Lean, Kanban, JIT, and line balancing concepts.

 Excellent expertise in Excel, MIS, and planning tools (ERP knowledge preferred).

 Strong analytical, problem-solving, and coordination skills.

 Ability to work under pressure and meet strict production deadlines.

 Good communication and leadership skills.

4. Qualification

 Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering preferred)

 MBA – Operations / PG in Industrial Engineering (added advantage)

 5–8 years of experience in PPC in a manufacturing plant (automotive / appliances

preferred)
