Job Description

Job Title: BI Developer (Power BI)

Experience: 5+ Years in Business Intelligence / Data Analytics

Location: Remote

Job Summary

BI Developer

Key Responsibilities

Power BI Dashboard Development

Design, develop, and maintain
interactive Power BI dashboards and reports
Implement
row-level security (RLS)
and optimize data models for performance
Build reusable report templates and standardized visual components

KPI Modeling & Business Metrics

Work with business stakeholders to define, validate, and document
KPIs and performance metrics
Develop
DAX measures
for KPI calculations, trends, YoY/MoM analysis
Ensure consistency and accuracy of KPIs across reports and dashboards

Data Visualization & Insights

Apply best practices in
data visualization
to create intuitive, user-friendly dashboards
Choose appropriate chart types to highlight trends, anomalies, and insights
Ensure dashboards are aligned with business goals and user personas

Data Integration & Modeling

Connect Power BI to multiple data sources (SQL databases, Excel, APIs, cloud sources)
Build efficient
data models (star/snowflake schemas)
for analytics
Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure data quality

Collaboration & Governance

Partner with data engineers, analysts, and business users to deliver end-to-end BI solutions
Document dashboards, KPIs, and data definitions
Support BI governance, version control, and deployment best practices

Required Skills

Core Skills (Must-Have)

5+ years of experience as a
BI Developer or Power BI Developer
Strong hands-on experience with
Power BI (Desktop & Service)
Expertise in
KPI modeling and metric definition
Advanced
data visualization principles and best practices
Strong proficiency in
DAX
and Power Query (M)
Experience working with
SQL-based data sources

Tools & Technologies

Power BI Desktop & Power BI Service
DAX, Power Query (M)
SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.)
Excel (advanced formulas, Power Pivot)

Good to Have

Experience with
Power BI performance tuning
Knowledge of
data warehousing concepts
Exposure to
Azure Synapse / Snowflake / BigQuery
Experience in Agile/Scrum environments
Familiarity with BI governance and security models
