Job Description

Job Summary:

Platform Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure and developer platforms.
Implement automation for provisioning, deployment, and scaling of applications.
Manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
Collaborate with software development teams to ensure seamless deployment and observability.
Manage and monitor system performance, availability, and security.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
Build and maintain containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).
Optimize cloud resource utilization for performance and cost efficiency.
Ensure security best practices across infrastructure and pipelines.
Participate in on-call rotations and incident response when needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
Strong understanding of Linux-based systems and networking fundamentals.
Hands-on experience with public clouds (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, or Go).
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
Experience with IaC tools: Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
Monitoring & logging experience (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch).
Understanding of security, compliance, and disaster recovery strategies.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with service mesh (Istio, Linkerd).
Knowledge of API management and event-driven architecture.
Exposure to data platform or big data infrastructure (Kafka, Airflow, Snowflake).
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
