We are seeking an experienced Production / Manufacturing Head to lead our factory operations, overseeing daily production activities, quality control, and manufacturing processes to ensure delivery of high-quality products to our customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bakery production of Bread, Rusk, Cookies and cakes. The candidate should be proficient in team management, and process improvement. The role demands strong leadership to drive operational performance, workforce productivity with cost effective methods and continuous improvement while aligning with organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily production operations, including planning, scheduling, execution, and monitoring of all production lines (mixing, baking, and packing)
- Ensure production meets volumes, quality, cost, safety, and delivery targets
- Develop and implement production plans aligned with business demand, inventory targets, raw material availability, and equipment capacity
- Monitor key production metrics/KPIs (e.g., OEE, yield, scrap/waste, downtime, throughput, costs) and drive improvement initiatives
- Drive food safety, hygiene, and quality compliance (e.g., GMP, HACCP, FSSAI/other local regulatory standards)
- Lead or support process implementation/change management: when new lines, new SKUs, new packaging or new equipment are introduced
- Control production costs: labour, utilities, raw material variance, packaging waste
- Seek efficiencies in process, layout, and automation where applicable
Requirements:
- BE / B. Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering (MBA preferred).
Must have 10+ years’ experience in a plant leadership role. Proven track record in leading large teams, improving operations, and managing industrial relations.
Minimum 8-10 years of progressive production/operations experience specifically in factory production within the FMCG food sector (snacks, bakery, cakes, bread, cookies, rusk preferred)
- Demonstrated track record managing large-scale manufacturing operations (multiple production lines, significant volumes, workforce of supervisors + operators)
- Strong knowledge of snack/bakery production processes (e.g., dough mixing, baking, packaging) and associated equipment
