PIM Solutions Consultant

The PIM Solutions Consultant will be responsible for configuring, implementing, and integrating Product Information Management (PIM) solutions. This role requires technical and functional expertise in Akeneo PIM, with knowledge of other leading PIM platforms considered advantageous. The consultant will collaborate with clients to design product data models, configure workflows, and deliver solutions that ensure high-quality, scalable product information management.

Key Responsibilities

PIM Implementation & Configuration:

• Configure and implement PIM solutions, ensuring alignment with client requirements and business processes.
• Define and customise product attributes, categories, families, rules, and workflows within Akeneo and other PIM platforms.
• Support data migration, cleansing, and enrichment, including script-based transformations where required.
• Design scalable product data models and governance frameworks.

Technical Solutioning & Integration:

• Collaborate with the development team to design and build integrations between PIM, ERP, and eCommerce platforms.
• Develop and review functional and technical specifications, supporting API, ETL, and data pipeline implementations.
• Leverage REST, GraphQL, or other APIs to enable data exchange and syndication.
• Work with modern integration tools (e.g., MuleSoft, Talend, Boomi, Azure Data Factory) for PIM connectivity.
• Contribute to solution architecture discussions, including hosting options (cloud,SaaS, on-prem).

Client Engagement & Training:

• Lead discovery workshops to capture functional and technical requirements.
• Provide training to business and technical stakeholders on PIM usage, data governance, and integration.
• Advise on PIM adoption strategies, change management, and ongoing support.

Process Optimisation & Best Practices:

• Define best practices for product data governance, quality assurance, and syndication.
• Benchmark client solutions against industry standards and recommend optimisation opportunities.
• Stay current with advancements in PIM platforms, APIs, and integration patterns.

Qualifications and Experience

Technical & Functional Expertise:

• Strong experience with Akeneo PIM (certification preferred) and familiarity with other PIM solutions (e.g., Salsify, inRiver, Stibo Systems) is an advantage.
• Hands-on expertise configuring PIM solutions, including taxonomy design, product attributes, workflows, and governance.
• Strong understanding of product data modelling, data quality, and enrichment practices.
• Experience with related tools such as

  ERP (SAP, Dynamics 365), eCommerce platforms (Commercetools, Adobe Commerce cloud, SAP Commerceloud, Shopify, Big Commerce)

  is advantageous.

Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in PIM implementations, functional consulting, or product data management.
• Proven track record of delivering both functional configuration and technical integration of PIM solutions.
• Demonstrated success in leading client workshops, technical discussions, and training.

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and client engagement abilities.
• Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) and experience working within Agile project environments.

Certifications (preferred):

• Akeneo PIM Certification.
• Relevant certifications in product information management, master data management (MDM), or Agile frameworks.
