About The Role
We are hiring an experienced, on-site PFT Technician to join a fast-paced respiratory diagnostics team. You will operate and maintain pulmonary function lab equipment, guide patients through tests, ensure high-quality data capture aligned with ATS/ERS standards, and support clinicians with timely, accurate reports.Role & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic pulmonary function tests including spirometry (pre/post bronchodilator), lung volumes, DLCO and peak flow—ensure tests meet ATS/ERS quality criteria.
- Prepare and coach patients of all ages to achieve reproducible efforts; obtain informed consent and document medical history relevant to testing.
- Calibrate and perform daily quality-control checks on PFT equipment; log maintenance activities and escalate faults promptly.
- Capture, process and validate test data using PFT software and EMR; generate clear, clinician-ready reports and flag urgent abnormalities.
- Follow strict infection-control, sterilization and safety protocols for on-site testing; manage consumables and instrument inventory.
- Collaborate with pulmonologists, lab staff and admin teams to optimize patient flow, scheduling and continuous quality improvement.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- Diploma/degree/certification in Respiratory Therapy, Pulmonary Function Technology or allied health field; equivalent clinical training accepted.
- Minimum 1 year hands-on experience performing PFTs in a hospital, diagnostic lab or pulmonary clinic (India preferred).
- Proven competence with spirometry, lung volumes, DLCO testing and calibration/quality-control procedures.
- Familiarity with PFT software, basic EMR systems and MS Office for documentation and report generation.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and strong patient communication skills.
Preferred
- Certifications from recognised bodies or additional experience with CPET/sleep study setups and advanced pulmonary diagnostics.
- Working knowledge of ATS/ERS guidelines, infection-control practices and clinical laboratory workflows.
