Moulding Head

Position: Head of Department – Moulding

Department: Moulding

Reports To: Plant Head

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all moulding operations .
• Ensure consistent mould quality, dimensional accuracy, and production targets.
• Implement and maintain SOPs for moulding, gating, risering, venting, and handling.
• Monitor sand properties (moisture, green strength, permeability, compactability, hardness) and control sand-related defects.
• Coordinate with Melting, Core Shop, Lab, Quality, and Maintenance teams.
• Analyze moulding defects and take corrective/preventive actions.
• Train and develop moulding supervisors and operators.
• Maintain daily/monthly reports on production, defects, and KPIs.
  

Quality & Safety

• Ensure moulding quality meets customer and internal standards.
• Enforce safety practices (PPE usage, machine safety, handling of mould boxes and sand).
• Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
  

Cost & Efficiency

• Control sand consumption, rework, and machine efficiency.
• Reduce mould-related defects and optimize cycle time.
• Drive continuous improvement, Kaizen, and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of moulding processes, green sand / no-bake systems.
• Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Leadership and team management.
• Data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
  

Qualification & Experience

• B.E./B.Tech / Diploma – Mechanical / Metallurgy.
• 8–15 years experience in foundry moulding operations.
• Hands-on experience with RENO line preferred.
• Automotive foundry experience preferred.
  

Salary & Benefits

• Salary Range: 30,000 to 40,000 per month (Negotiable, based on experience and skill)
