Job Title: Merchandise Manager – Retail & Online Business (Footwear)

Location: Coimbatore


Job Purpose:

Footwear


Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Assortment Planning

  • Develop seasonal and annual assortment plans for

    Men’s, Women’s, and Kids’ footwear categories

    .
  • Analyze sales trends, consumer preferences, and market movements to ensure the right product mix for both

    offline and online

    platforms.
  • Plan exclusive collections and launches suitable for each channel.

2. Sourcing & Vendor Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers and manufacturing partners for footwear categories.
  • Negotiate pricing, MOQs, lead times, and payment terms to achieve cost efficiency.
  • Ensure timely deliveries, quality adherence, and long-term vendor relationships.

3. Inventory Management & Allocation

  • Plan and monitor stock levels across stores, warehouses, and online fulfillment centers.
  • Optimize inventory flow to reduce slow movers and stock-outs.
  • Coordinate with SCM and warehouse teams for timely replenishment and stock transfers.

4. Pricing & Margins

  • Define pricing structures and discount strategies for each category and channel.
  • Track landed costs, margins, and profitability per SKU.
  • Coordinate with finance for margin monitoring and profitability reports.

5. Visual Merchandising & Display

  • Collaborate with the VM team to ensure effective product presentation and seasonal display execution.
  • Align online product presentation and content with brand aesthetics and campaign themes.

6. Category Profitability & Business Analysis

  • Monitor category performance through sales, margins, and sell-through analysis.
  • Recommend promotions, markdowns, and assortment changes based on performance insights.
  • Drive profitability targets across both retail and e-commerce channels.

7. Cross-functional Coordination

  • Work closely with

    SCM, BOH, Store Operations, E-commerce, and Finance

    teams for smooth business operations.
  • Align with the

    marketing team

    for product launches and promotional campaigns.


Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of

    footwear retail & e-commerce operations

  • Expertise in

    merchandise planning, vendor management, and pricing strategy

  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data-driven decision making
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Knowledge of retail software, ERP, and inventory management tools
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders


Qualification & Experience:

  • Graduate / Postgraduate in

    Business, Retail Management, or Fashion Merchandising

  • 5–8 years of experience

    in merchandising or category management in

    footwear or fashion retail (retail & online)
